It’s a turbulent road fraught with panic attacks, flashbacks, and OCD. I also admire the strength Charlotte has to summon every day as she works towards reclaiming her independence and control over her life. They have a great close friendship: they’ve been each other’s rock/sister/lifeline through the darkest moments of their lives. Her true personal shining clearly through. She is luminescent when she interacts with her best friend, Molly. Timid and purposefully unnoticeable on the outside, on the inside she is a hard-working spit-fire. It’s been about 5 years since Charlotte escaped an abusive relationship but her life is still dictated by the trauma she experienced (ptsd and anxiety). Gabriel and Charlotte are such a wonderful pair and their journey together warmed my heart.

I loved this story for its sweet but steamy, slow burn romance, realism, and lovable main characters.
